You are better than you were yesterday and will be better than that tomorrow. Ebb and flow, darling, ebb and flow!

Trust your training - great advice. You know what you know or you wouldn't be testing. Visualize yourself completing it all and putting that shiny new belt on for the first time. You'll be great!

Carb up before your test. Conserve and reserve (it isn't possible to go 110% for the entire test) and just. do.it. You will be GREAT!!Feliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09017194727231120284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-721299157087470564.post-6374796454658916712012-03-08T09:13:32.114-06:002012-03-08T09:13:32.114-06:00Anytime I have a test coming up I treat it like a ...Anytime I have a test coming up I treat it like a pro fighter would a competition. Nothing too strenuous that you run any kind of risk of popping/injuring/etc something.

I usually do light cardio, yoga, and a lot of light stretching throughout the day.The Strongest Karatehttp://www.kyokushinblog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-721299157087470564.post-73546851256668131262012-03-07T11:12:38.487-06:002012-03-07T11:12:38.487-06:00A few days before the test, I remind students to r...A few days before the test, I remind students to rely on their training and enjoy the moment.Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04317845403611730397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-721299157087470564.post-65438537591137611342012-03-07T06:38:09.204-06:002012-03-07T06:38:09.204-06:00Hey Ariel, your test is going to be a completely d...Hey Ariel, your test is going to be a completely different experience to mine! I was tested on the entire shodan syllabus, which was long and arduous (6 hours) but at least I knew what to expect and could prepare. Also, we had no verbal test, tested with several others at the same time and no-one was allowed to watch the test (even training partners can't stay to watch if they are not needed).

However, I like the idea that your test will be unique and tailored to you - I think it will be a great accomplishment when you pass (and you will pass).

The main bit of advice I can offer is 'stay in the moment'. Don't worry about what's just gone before or what is yet to come. Just focus entirely on the task in hand. If you are sparring then the test is just about sparring and nothing else matters. If you are doing your one-steps then the test is just about that at that moment in time. Get me?

I look forward to reading your post-test report...now go enjoy your test ;-)Sue Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16008609198511182782noreply@blogger.com
